Privacy policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
This policy explains how Idle & Awake (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit idleawake.com. Each of our sites has its own policy for anything specific to it: Essays, Blog, Tools and Time.
1. Information you give us
This page has no forms, accounts or sign-ups. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply, and we don’t add you to any list.
2. Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information needed to deliver pages securely, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. It is used for security, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic statistics.
We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without tracking you across sites. We may also use Google Analytics 4, which sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and reports visits in aggregate; it does not log or store IP addresses. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are measured without analytics cookies unless they consent. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
3. Advertising and cookies
Our sites are supported by advertising provided by Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or learn more at aboutads.info.
- To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used, and can change that choice at any time with the privacy settings link shown on the site. Visitors in U.S. states with privacy laws can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising through the privacy message shown on the site.
4. Links to other services
We link to our pages on YouTube, Instagram, Threads, Buy Me a Coffee and Ko-fi, and some posts link to Amazon. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply once you visit them.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Most choices about advertising cookies can be made as described above. For anything else, contact us at pp.idleawake@gmail.com.
6. Children
Our sites are not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes
We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
